Locals and visitors to Parramatta can immerse themselves in the unique history and heritage of Australia’s second oldest city, as part of a new exhibition: A Journey Through Time.
The exhibition features local historical information and artefacts that were carefully uncovered and preserved by heritage experts during the construction of the Parramatta Light Rail.
A Journey Through Time showcases many of Parramatta’s culturally significant locations and heritage sites along the light rail route. These include the culturally significant Cumberland Precinct, former Rum Corps Barracks at Robin Thomas Reserve, and a World War II air raid shelter uncovered at Camellia.
Visitors will have an up-close view of some of the remarkable artefacts unearthed, such as tools and objects made by the land’s Traditional Owners and early colonies.
Suitable for all ages and groups, the exhibition is an exciting opportunity explore and discover the treasures of Parramatta’s history and heritage for yourself.
A Journey Through Time is available free of charge and for a limited time only.
When: 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday, 7 April to 11 June 2022
