You are cordially invited to join archaeologists from La Trobe University for a series of short informal talks on their archaeological research – from palaeoscience and human evolution, to the historical roots of Colonial Victoria and Christchurch. Normally this annual event would be held in a cosy Melbourne pub, with a glass of something cold. But, due to one thing and another, this year it's a digital Bring Your Own - but hopefully a few more of you will be able to make it as a result!
Our speakers and their papers are;
Jessie Garland "A Large and General Assortment": Shopping at London and Paris House, Christchurch.
Greg Hil ‘Going over old ground… Tracking and modelling landscape change through time with GIS’
Jesse Martin ‘Evidence for early human origins from Drimolen Cave South Africa’
Wenjing Yu ‘Where do we come from and WHEN? Combined US-ESR dating at the UNESCO Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, South Africa’
Dr Katherine Thomas ‘Flying forecast for the future: UAVs and cutting edge archaeological practice’
Hosted by Dr Keir Strickland, and organised by the Department of Archaeology and History, La Trobe University. Download the flyer here.
