Archaeological Investigations at Pioneer’s Park

Come and listen to archaeologist David Marcus talk about the results of recent archaeological investigations at Pioneer’s Park.

Austral Archaeology has been in partnership with the Office of Australian War Graves and Liverpool City Council in order to locate unmarked World War I graves and to construct a permanent memorial at the site.

David will talk about some of the outcomes of the investigations and how the results differed from those at Apex Park, also undertaken by Austral Archaeology on behalf of Liverpool City Council.

About the speaker: David is a Director of Austral Archaeology and oversees the work of our Liverpool office. He has over 20 years’ experience and first started working for Austral in 2010. Since then, he has moved through various roles to become a director of the company in 2019.

David currently focuses his work in the Sydney region, but he has extensive experience from working on projects across a variety of sites in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.
