Voting is now open for the prestigious People’s Choice Award! Please vote for your favourite entry using this VOTING FORM. Please note that voting is only for the over-18 entries. We can’t make you choose between the amazing under-18 entries, they are all winners!
Bake or make a creation inspired by archaeology!
Knit a scale bar, bake artefact biscuits, model a monument, the only limit is your imagination.
We have special NAW certification for under 18s, so if you have a crafty young person, please encourage them to get involved, and let us know in your entry description who did the making/baking!
For more information and ideas, download the poster here and for under-18s here. If you are looking for inspiration, Dr Emma Rehn has made a series of free archaeology-themed crochet patterns available, especially for NAW. Find them on Ravelry here.
The prizes will be drawn from a fantastic selection of books generously donated by the authors, publishers and friends of NAW, including:
Debbie Argue, Little Species, Big Mystery: The Story of Homo Floresiensis
Andrew Sneddon, Prehistoric Joy
Chris Urwin, Building and Remembering: An Archaeology of Place-Making on Papua New Guinea’s South Coast
li-Yanyuwa li-Wirdiwalangu (Yanyuwa Elders), Liam M. Brady, John Bradley, & Amanda Kearney, Jakarda Wuka (Too Many Stories): Narratives of Rock Art from Yanyuwa Country in Northern Australia's Gulf of Carpentaria
Andrés Zarankin, Michael Pearson & Melisa A. Salerno, Archaeology in Antarctica
Plus the Fieldwork Rations tea collection, created and donated by Luna Tea Co.. A gift set of four quintessential teas for the travelling archaeologist.
