Bake or make a creation inspired by archaeology!
Knit a scale bar, bake artefact biscuits, model a monument, the only limit is your imagination.
The competition is open from Thursday 1 May to Saturday 24 May 2025. Submit your amazing creation using the ENTRY FORM.
We have special NAW certification for under 18s, so if you have a crafty young person, please encourage them to get involved, and let us know in your entry description who did the making/baking!
For more information and ideas, download the poster here and for under-18s here.
Remember to vote for the People’s Choice award after entries close on 24 May.
The prizes will be drawn from a fantastic selection of books generously donated by the authors, publishers and friends of NAW, including:
Catherine J. Frieman, Archaeology as History: Telling Stories from a Fragmented Past
Daniela Hofmann, Catherine J. Frieman & Astrid J. Nyland, Migration Narratives in Archaeology
Ian J. McNiven & Lynette Russell, Innovation: Knowledge and Ingenuity
Rebecca Repper, Robert Bewley & Mike Bishop, Reframing the “Desert Frontier”: Studies in the ancient Near East and northern Arabia in honour of David Kennedy
