Join Liverpool City Council Heritage Officer Thomas Wheeler as he discusses recent archaeological investigations at Liverpool Pioneers Memorial Park. This free talk celebrates National Archaeology Week.
In 2021, Liverpool City Council in partnership with the Office of Australian War Graves commissioned Austral Archaeology to locate at least 44 unmarked World War 1 graves. In 2022, investigations continue to locate pauper’s remains in the northern end of the cemetery.
About the speaker: Thomas Wheeler has overseen heritage projects for Liverpool City Council including the recent restoration of historic homestead Collingwood House (c.1810) and currently the Liverpool Court House (c.1820).
