Out of Context is a collaboration between artist and archaeologist, delving into the layers and stories from the mid-nineteenth century Irish community at Baker’s Flat, Kapunda, and the process of archaeology at work. Come and enjoy a glimpse into another world and experience a core sample of history. This exhibition showcases several years work between Susan Arthure, the dig director, and Jorji Gardener, artist in residence, to tell the narrative of the site embedded in the fragments, and of the sorting, cataloguing and piecing together. The viewer is invited on a journey of exploration, curiosity and intrigue.
