Get hands-on with Archaeology during National Archaeology Week 2026
Have you ever wondered what humans were doing in the past?
Archaeology is the study of humans throughout time, all the way back to our first ancestor, who lived about 7 million years ago.
Come and learn about archaeology at the Flinders University Archaeology Day, where you can hear from our staff and current students (who work all over the world!) about some of the exciting research we’re doing. Plus, you’ll discover how to become a professional archaeologist and the careers this degree can lead to, and even get your hands dirty with some practical activities.
Dig for artefacts, meet some skeletons, hear about ancient temples and historic shipwrecks, and visit our labs. This event is part of National Archaeology Week, and we welcome students of all abilities, ages 15+.
Presented by Flinders University Archaeology, College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.
When: 10am-2pm, Tuesday 19 May 2026
Where: Humanities Courtyard, Flinders University, Bedford Park Campus, Sturt Road, Bedford Park SA
