Lithic Knapping Day

Presented by the Griffith University Archaeology Society and University of Queensland Archaeology Society.

Join us this Sunday for a day of stone tool making at the Griffith University Nathan Campus for National Archaeology Week!!

What to expect:

Learning and trying stone flaking techniques to make your very own stone tools including;

  • Bifacial knapping

  • Pressure point flaking

What to bring:

  • Water bottle

  • Hat

  • Long pants and closed shoes (required)

Parking available nearby! Buses available from UQ Lakes station (~ 35 mins via 169, etc.)

Free snacks provided! Please let us know about any dietary requirements when buying a ticket. Limited tickets available so remember to get in quick!

When: 1-4pm Sunday 19 May 2024
