As part of National Archaeology Week and ongoing as an archaeological field methods course at the University of Southern Queensland, excavations at the Eagles Nest Depression era camp in Redwood Park, Toowoomba, will be carried out between 16th – 21st May 2022. The 2022 excavations will focus on three stone walled hut sites, part of a complex of some 18 structural remains of a large camp for the unemployed on the edge of the Toowoomba range. A public open day will be held Saturday 21st May.
