How did you become interested in archaeology?
I've always been interested in the past and archaeology for as long as I can remember!
What archaeological projects are you working on at the moment?
The Desert People Project which aims to understand when Aboriginal people first settled in Australia's deserts and then track how desert occupation changed over time in conjunction with fluctuating climatic conditions.
Tell us about one of your most interesting archaeological discoveries.
I was lucky enough to be involved in the excavation of Boodie Cave which is located on the west coast of Barrow Island. The archaeological record here was immense and also provided the earliest dates in Australia for Aboriginal occupation of Pleistocene coasts.
What’s your favourite part of being an archaeologist?
Fieldwork with fantastic people including Traditional Owners and talented colleagues.
