Convenor: Professor Claire Smith
A wide range of people are interested in archaeology: local communities, pastoralists, government bodies, history groups, Indigenous people, archaeologists. These intersecting interests mean that archaeologists are constantly faced by ethical dilemmas. In this public class, we will try and resolve real-life ethical dilemmas in archaeology. After we have reached our resolution, we will discuss how each of these cases was actually resolved.
