Presented by ABACUS at the Australian National University.
As part of this year’s National Archaeology Week, ABACUS is pleased to invite you to a Networking Dinner on Thursday, 22 May. This dinner will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with students, academics, and professionals in a relaxed and informal setting.
Thanks to the support of a NAW grant by AAA, dinner and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided free of charge. The event is open to the general public and will be advertised via our social media channels.
Please note that registration is required to attend. To assist with planning and budgeting, please confirm your attendance by obtaining a free ticket via Rubric by 12 May.
Transport and Parking: Free on campus after 5:00 pm. Closest parking is available at the Hancock Library, behind the Fenner School of Environmental Science, next to the residential halls, or at Fellows Oval. The closest disabled parking is located along University Avenue, at the Kambri Cultural Centre, and near the Hancock Library. Closest bus stop is Marcus Clarke/ANU Rimmer Street where R2-R6 drop off. Light rail in the city stops only a ten minute walk from the venue.
Accessibility and Inclusion:
The venue is located on University Avenue with flat ground wheelchair access, however the inside of the venue is quite cozy. We will reserve seating facing the open entrance to make it easier for those needing wheelchair access.
Name tags with pronouns will be provided.
Clear signage will be available at the venue.
Allergies and sensitivities can be catered for but please indicate these when registering.
While there is no designated low-sensory space within the event, there are outdoor tables and isolated benches just outside the venue for anyone needing a break.
We are able to cover the cost of local travel (e.g. Uber or taxi) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander attendees. Please contact us to arrange this confidentially via email or phone.
We’re committed to making this event as accessible and inclusive as possible. If you have any accessibility, dietary, or sensory needs you’d like us to know about, please let us know when registering or email us at abacusanu@gmail.com or by mobile on 0479 043 343.
