How did you become interested in archaeology?

Reading a book series for kids about the adventures of an archaeologist and being inspired by the amazing discoveries.

What archaeological projects are you working on at the moment?

Cataloguing and analysing artefacts from various sites around Melbourne’s CBD

Tell us about one of your most interesting archaeological discoveries.

My first day on site as a student volunteer I found a dog skull which later became the basis for my masters thesis!

Tell us about a funny / disastrous / amazing experience that you have had while doing archaeology.

I tripped and fell into an empty grave on site in Transylvania... more than once. At least it had already been excavated!

What’s your favourite part of being an archaeologist?

Getting to see pieces of the everyday lives of people that have not been written about in the history books.
